At zero and negative numbers. Even small improvements are very much appreciated by ol' Grampa Gary.

I suspect that management lawyers don't care so much about certain distinctions in their self serving analyses. Like Lance Armstrong's legitimate medical treatments.

Personalities like Bud Mitchell and Bud Selig only trade in pure perception. Other realities aren't very important in their netherworld.

Given our society's continuing preoccupation with 'the cult of personality' it's difficult to imagine that the vast majority of our youth will want to be just like mom and dad when they grow up. As opposed to, say - Janis Joplin or Jim Morrison. JFK or Bobby Seale. Jane Fonda or Louis Farakan. Johnny Carson or Mia Farrow.

As parents, and with the benefit of hindsight, I'm not sure many of us would choose ANY of those folks for our children to follow as 'role models.'

We may very well have chosen them for ourselves when young, but those picks are mostly either irrelavent or counterintuitive for our teenagers, as they begin to make their own choices.

The appropriateness of some of the role models our children and grandchildren are choosing today - still represent unknown quantities from parents' points of view.

Luv the blog guys.

-gary @ foolonthehillfarmAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
